Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Boudoir Experience and how to prepare!

What Should I Do Before I Come To The Studio For My Boudoir Experience?

Okay, so now that you booked your boudoir experience whats next? Every women asks what to do to prepare for their session, so I’ve compiled a list of the most important things to do to prepare for your session! Sometimes there can be some nerves before your session, so I’m here to help! I’ve written up some guidelines and tips to help you prepare for your boudoir session.

Tip #1- Order Your Lingerie Selections A Few Months In Advance.

Some pieces may take a while to come in and others may not be the perfect fit and need to be replaced. If you are unsure of sizing it may be best to order two different sizes and return what doesn’t fit!

Tip #2- Keep Only The Lingerie That Fits Perfectly!

There’s really nothing thats worse then not feeling your absolute best at your session. Thats why I have you only bring the pieces that you absolutely love and that fit you the best! Sometimes its nice to go to a local boutique and try on some pieces to get a better idea on styles and fits. If you prefer to try online theres a great website that helps you figure out your perfect size and style!

Tip #3- Refrain From Tanning Or Getting A Sunburn!

Often times, spray tans can make your skin look orange on camera or even blotchy. They can look too unnatural and is very hard to edit during my post processing. If yo’d like a little extra glow, just let me know! I can add some warmth to your images for that perfect tan!

Tip #4- Two Weeks Before Your Boudoir Experience, Check Your Roots And Split Ends!

Make sure to touch up those roots and get a good haircut so your hair will look its very best during your session! I don’t recommend trying a new style or color before your session.

Tip #5- Are You Ready For A Wax?

A few days before your shoot, you should touch up all your waxing! Make sure to do it in enough time that the redness will be subsided.

Tip #6- Make Sure To Hydrate, Moisturize, And Stretch!

Drink plenty of water the day before your session!

Get that lotion on! Making sure to moisturize everyday a week or so leading up to your session to ensure perfectly smooth moisturized skin.

Exfoliating your skin helps smooth and soften your skin, buffing away dry flaky, dead skin cells.

Stretching can really help reduce soreness after your session. A lot of the poses we do awaken some muscles you may not use everyday! The arching and stretching to get into positions you may not be used to can make for a sore day after!

Tip #7- It’s Time For A Mani & Pedi!

Manicures and pedicures are not necessary but it does help add those special details to your images! Just try avoiding bright colors and crazy patterns

Tip #8- Bring Accessories To Your Boudoir Experience!

While you don’t need to bring anything extra with you, it’s great to have some fun additions to your outfits. They may include garter belts, sexy body jewelry, stockings, heels, ect.

If you choose to bring thigh highs, or fish nets, they should be a size or two bigger to avoid any tightness on your thighs.

Heels are optional but can help make your legs look lean and are super sexy! They can help complete the look. If heels aren’t your thing we can absolutely do the whole session barefoot!

Also, think outside the box! Sometimes a sports jersey, button up shirt, or denim jackets can be fun!

Tip #9- Don’t pick at blemishes!

Don’t pick at facial blemishes, leave ‘em (or you will make them worse!) I will edit blemishes out so no need to worry and pick!

Tip #10- The Most Important Tip! Sleep!

Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before your boudoir experience! Beauty sleep is important and photoshop can’t fix tired!

Eat before your session! Make sure to have a healthy full breakfast before your session! They can be a lot of work and you’ll be burning some calories. You will be tired and sore!

Packing your stuff the night before the session will help ensure you remember everything and lets you relax the morning of your session!
