From Nervous to Confident: A Boudoir Journey That Changed How She Saw Herself

When it comes to boudoir photography, so many women are curious—but nervous. They wonder if they’ll feel awkward, what they’ll wear, or if they’ll even recognize themselves in the photos.

Today, I want to share the story of one of my incredible clients—a business owner and realtor, a busy mom, and a woman who decided to step far outside her comfort zone and into something empowering.

How She Discovered Reva Davis Photography

Our journey actually started long before her boudoir session. We met when our youngest sons were in preschool together. Over the years, we stayed connected, watching each other grow as women, moms, and business owners.

When she heard about boudoir sessions, she already knew what they were—she’d seen friends do them—but never imagined herself being the woman in front of the camera.

Facing the Fears (and the Outfit Panic 😅)

Like most women, she had fears before booking:

  • Feeling insecure about her looks and weight
  • Not knowing what to wear
  • Worrying she wouldn’t feel confident or sexy

But she decided to do something bold—something completely outside her comfort zone.

She booked the session as a Christmas gift for her husband… but little did she know, the biggest gift would be for herself.

Before the Session: Nervous and Anxious

Walking into the studio, she felt nervous and anxious—exactly how most women feel before their session.

But once hair and makeup were done and the camera started clicking, something shifted.

The Session Experience: Confidence Unlocked

She shared that the session was nothing like she expected—in the best way.

“Reva was amazing, and so was her stylist. They made me feel comfortable in my own skin. Once we started, I settled down and had a great time.”

She was surprised by how relaxed and fun the experience felt. Instead of focusing on insecurities, she felt present, powerful, and confident.

The After: Seeing Herself in a New Light

One of the most powerful parts of boudoir is the way it changes how women see themselves.

After her session, she said:

  • She felt more confident in how she photographs
  • She was reminded that she is beautiful
  • She saw herself in a more positive, empowered light

This is why I do what I do.

Her Advice to Other Women on the Fence

Her message to women thinking about boudoir?

“DO IT!!!! You won’t regret it. You may be nervous, but once you start your session, it goes away and you feel confident.”

And to those who think they’re too shy:

“If I can do it, anyone can.”

Why She Recommends Boudoir

She believes boudoir is more than photos—it’s perspective.

“Because you see yourself in a different light, a more positive one.”

And her final words made my heart explode:

“Reva is an incredibly talented photographer and an even better person. She will have you feeling confident, sexy, and beautiful. I’d give her 1000 stars.”

Your Turn

If you’ve ever thought about booking a boudoir session but felt nervous, shy, or unsure—this is your sign.

You don’t need to be confident to book a session.
Confidence is what happens because you booked it.

✨ You deserve to see yourself the way others already do.
